Camp Focus Areas

Campers will have fun and learn more about how they can live “green” and protect our environment and will grow their understanding of and commitment to the stewardship of our earth.

Science & Nature
Creating earth adventures and connecting children with nature. Experience and learn about plants, animals, bugs, water, waste, air, land & energy. Explore stream chemistry, bird watching, animal habitat and much more! Expect to come home a little dirty.

Arts & Crafts
What is camp without Popsicle sticks, glue, paint and construction paper? Campers will create arts & crafts that will pursue the weekly themes. Students will be encouraged to make visual connections between arts and nature. Great opportunity to be creative and combine learning with hands on activities!

Technology
Campers will use technologies like GPS to record measurements in the field; Exploring their neighborhood and wildlife habitat with Google Earth, digital mapping, geo-caching and record data discovered in other components of the day like stream test results, bug counting etc. Great connection
between our digital world and the outdoors!

Creative Energy
Have fun and move! Students explore different forms of kinetic potential, renewable and clean energy and technologies by moving, acting and building. Great for confidence building and self-esteem!

Sustainable Agriculture
Students will learn how plants grow, where our food comes from, participate in healthy gardening
and agriculture activities and bring home real life examples of how to compost, recycle and reuse! Great way to learn farm to table lessons.
